"Teenagers will constantly test the boundaries parents set for them. This is good! It is during these years that young people move from dependence to independence."
How did you test the boundaries set by your parents – did they set healthy boundaries for you as a teenager?

my parents set no real boundaries that i remember as such - i know that at 14 when i took my options i choose a lot of rubbish subjects in the hope they might step up and give me some imput - they didn't i ended up with a lot of stupid qualifications (childcare and child development for example!!)

I think i generally rebelled not in a HUGE drink, drugs and rock and roll kind of way but in a "stuff you i'm going into my self" kind of way. Interestingly in my late teens and 20's my parents, who have there own "issues" in life (low self esteem, broken dreams, abuse) disowned me 3 times, that has a huge effect.
