I know there are fnf branch meetings and so on through the week in places which given their location are not always possible to get to. Any Scottish Dads interested in forming our own, share our experiences, give advice, etc? Id be willing to organise it. Theres probably not enough of us sweaty socks on here lol but worth a try.

That's a great idea BD!

Why don't you ask Gooner if he could give you the usernames of all the Scottish members so that you could PM them about it...I don't know if he could but it would be a good way of getting in touch.

thanks nannyjane. I just find talking so therapeutic and I guess others do to. The irony is that before I would sometimes get nervous talking in front of big groups or lots of strangers but this has given me a dose of perspective and frankly after what Ive gone through I couldn't care less talking in front 25 thousand.

As this is non contact weekend, i'm at a low ebb. Hopefully with court on the horizon and maybe a bit more clearer direction and progress fingers crossed ill get to a point where at this stage ill simply be so much looking forward to the next weekend and the joy it brings that I can come to enjoy normal life again. Offers of a few drinks tonight, out for dinner etc at present i'm just not interested in.

I just wish I could divert my mind from this but I can't although I did go back to work last week which was a real test for me which I came through fairly well 🙂

...a lot of members find it really therapeutic to come on here and give advice and support...just as you have. When I first joined it was to look for advice to help my son. My brother also died suddenly the day before I joined and being here really helped me deal with that too...helping others is the best way of getting out of a rut or forgetting about the awful things happening around you.

The weekends are often times when we get members that are really in need of support, so hang around and get typing BD!

You are doing so well, congratulation on getting back to work...keeping busy is key, and keeping fit and well!

Hi, have joined here just minutes ago, but I too suffer from 'separation anxiety' every time I part from my son, and I've had a ton of cr@p replace what was once my life since it imploded 17 months ago, so I certainly understand a lot of issues and been through/going through many things I'm sure many on here have also. I am interested in adding my voice and lending my ear to a support group in Scotland.

HI guys

Just wondering if the idea of a Scottish support group ever got off the ground? I'd definitely be interested. Increasingly feel that the things I am feeling and need to talk about are not easy for friends/family to deal with, Would very much like to be able to swap experiences with dads in similar situation.

Cheers,
Brad
