[Solved] Teenagers in love!!

My eldest (he is 14) announced to us that he is now in a relationship (via facebook!!)

How things have changed!!

He sent 1344 text messages to this young lady last month (luckily his contract allows this) and he has declared that we can't be trusted to meet her which made us both laugh!!

So that means that we will need to have "THE CHAT" and also tell him that his first priority is school.

Bear in mind that every conversation we have with him results in us being bellowed at - I am so looking forward to it!!

May leave it to the wife...I am off to the pub!

I agree it's so different for our kids now with their phones & facebook when it comes to dating. We also have a 14 year old (girl) & she's been texting a boy from school every half minute since she's been home.

They seem to like each other more when text/facebook than they do in person. My daughter's definately more confident that way. I think in some ways it's a helpful way for them to try & work out whether they do like each other before they start asking each other out.

It's really hard being in this phase & we are trying to quickly learn how to deal with this whole area. It's not easy!!

Has it changed so much? I met my wife 10 years ago through internet dating, and I'm certain I wouldn't have met her otherwise πŸ™‚

I met my girlfriend nearly 2 years ago the same way, and we did (and still do :} ) spend most of the day txting (or bbm'ing get me down with the youth!!) it is a good way to know if you get on and if your not so confident it allows that to develop.
