Hi,

has anyone ever applied for a free barrister/ representation through We Are Advocate charity? anyone been successful?

I am applying and I am not entitled to legal aid as I work full time/ no benefits, but on a low income so I cannot afford £1000 plus for a hearing! I am a terrible speaker though so I need help.

thanks

Ive not used them. Is this your first hearing or have you had a bad experience self representing in the past? You could look at a McKenzie friend who are quite cheap and offer help with hearings.

It's the final hearing.

I used a MF at the telephone hearing but it wasn't great. It moved to final hearing anyway but I got very confused and muddled on the phone with the MF telling me one thing and then trying to remember and repeat when I'm nervous was impossible.

I haven't heard back from Advocate yet but hopefully someone can help.

thanks
