Protection orders - should the police fact check before seeking and supporting?

Is it standard practice for the police to assist an individual in recommending and seeking a protection order without contacting the individual being accused, to fact check what is being reportedly said or the behaviours? For this to then be presented to support a no notice non-molestation order suggesting it was sought on the advice of welfare charities and the police advice? Based on false accounts, events and inaccuracies for which there is written correspondence evidence to the contrary? Although the non-molestation was dismissed by the court and an undertaking accepted, this is now being cited in a custody case claiming the earlier allegations.

hi, am not knowledgeable about police procedures etc but no notice orders can be made for protection reasons. courts can issue non mols on a without notice basis if they wish.

how is the child arrangements case going? are they doing a fact finding?
