Maintenance payments and homeschooling

Curious if anyone has had any experience with having to pay maintenance after the child is 16 and would have finished school, but was homeschooled for a few years beforehand.

I've read the CMS won't request evidence that proves further education (not college or sixth form but continuing being homeschooled)

On top of that the local authority won't provide evidence of homeschooling without the resident parents permission (which won't happen) even though my permission was never sought to take him out of school (I would never have agreed)

I've only recently found out he was being homeschooled as he hasn't wanted contact with me (apparently his own decision).

In short if I stop making payments after August till prove is provided of his education will I open myself up to action from the CMS?

hi,

first I would check with CMS, is child benefit case still active? if it is, then mum would have told them he still is in full time education, and if child benefit team approved that, then you would be expected to continue paying maintenance. better to get confirmation from CMs before you decide to stop payments.
