ex partner is causing nothing but hassle the now agreed to allow me to see my daughter in a contact centre which i agreed cause it seems the only way i get to see my daughter, but as i have my induction with the contact centre which was going great and i was looking forward to getting stuff sorted my lawyer inform me that my ex is now disagreeing to the contact centre after i agreed and she agreed to it . the contact centre were also shocked to find this out to as it was my ex that was wanting the only way to see my daughter was the contact centre which it seems she thought i was not going to go ahead and agree and do the induction to.

don't know what to expect next to be honest , seems like i might be needing to go to court

hi,

yes it sounds like you need to apply to court, otherwise you may be seeing child in contact centre for months/years on end.

how old is your child? and whats reason for you seeing her in contact centre?

to be honest with you it is all cause my ex partner is not allowing me to have my own time with my daughter made false accusations about myself saying i am depressed when i am not and have never been and now made accusations saying i mentally abused her when i never
my daughter is only 3 months old and to be honest i am currently getting it all taken away from me as my ex is not happy that i want to have my name put on her birth certificate my ex is using that as a way of means of having more rights and control over me when it comes to our daughter

Hi mate,

I had the same for 6 months when my child was born, the ex accusing me of this that and the other, saying I could only see my baby for 1 hour each week, using the baby to extort money from me to see my baby, I suffered it for 6 months then applied to court, seeing as your child is so young unfortunately the courts will play it very carefully, it’s tough going but it seems like court is your only option, just be prepared for your ex to get more difficult when you do apply, it is worth doing and the court will more than likely order contact at a centre first anyway. I didn’t see my baby until a day after her first birthday then it was 2 hours every 2 weeks for a couple of months then 4 hours every week at mine then over 6 months and when my girl was 18 months over nights started. I’d say it looks like your ex is going to be difficult so apply to court, in the meantime try to keep contact with the ex to a minimum just in case she throws anymore accusations at you which will make it more difficult when you do get to court.

i see. you will have a lot of battles in future, like wanting child to spend weekends with you, holidays etc. so court option would be best route.

because child is only 3 months, court will not give you a lot of time. you can expect to get little time like 1 or 2 hours here and there for a couple of months. it was like that with me. Judges were nice enough to order my ex to give me a private room at her place lol. it was only after child turned 1, where I got to spend a day with her at my place. overnight stays will start when she's 2 and a half.

about birth certificate issue, you can fill in form C63:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-c63-application-for-declaration-of-parentage-under-section-55a-of-the-family-law-act-1986#:~:text=Form-,Form%20C63%3A%20Apply%20for%20a%20declaration%20about%20whether%20a%20named,think%20your%20application%20is%20necessary.

Sorry to hear this, what reasons did she give to not go ahead with the contact centre? You will have to apply to courts to get more time, as others have said, based on the child's age, you may struggle to get a lot of time with them right now but that should increase as the child grows. It's not fair to agree to contact centre and then just change their mind though.

You need to become that masucline terminator your destined to be.

No longer have contact with your ex and make a P.R order and to be named on birth certificate.

While your at it make an order for weekend/midweek contact for you to pick up the child, while all this is going on keep your mental energy high with plenty of exercise this helped me fight any niggling stress.

to get ball rolling, have a chat with a mediator. MediateUK are good. they will need to give you permission to apply to court.

then you need to fill in c100 form, can be done online:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-c100-application-under-the-children-act-1989-for-a-child-arrangements-prohibited-steps-specific-issue-section-8-order-or-to-vary-or-discharge

c100 costs £215

before you make any application you should speak to your lawyer to find out whats going on and if they have made any applications.

yeah i will ask my lawyers about the c63 as i don't know what they have put forward as they have been in contact with her lawyers trying to resolve stuff but my ex is not cooperating at all with anything and is trying to get me to not take any interest in my daughter by trying to block me out her life

also be wary at the end of all this you could be paying thousands in legal fees if you continue to use solicitors to engage with your ex and do all your admin work.
