[Solved] Directions Hearing

Hi all, I’ve applied to family court regarding my daughter because of contact issues. I recently found out by doing a Sarah’s law request to the police that the mother of my daughters stepfather has a caution for [censored] offences on his record and isn’t allowed to have contact with children, my daughters mum has been taking my daughter to see him every weekend and in school holidays, I’ve applied for full custody due to these risks how likely will it be to have residential care of my daughter completely as she won’t listen to anyone about going there. I also have my directions hearing by telephone on Friday what is this hearing about exactly?

hi,

its difficult to tell if you would get full custody. perhaps instead the court would order your ex to keep your daughter away from the [censored] offender guy.

the hearing on friday, is it your first ever hearing in this case? if it is, judge will ask what the issues are, and what you are seeking.

The best move would be to not mention nothing at directions hearing , but focus on getting contact with your child.

Straight after hearing you want to make sure your daughter is with childs mums stepfather so you can then send the police around there and catch him redhanded with your daughter which will lead to his arrest and prosecution due to you saying that he isn't allowed contact with children.
Then you can bring this up at next hearing and you have the evidence that its all factual and you had genuine concerns.
If you do it other way and raise issue at directions hearing , firstly you have played your hand so to speak which may anger your ex further and she will probably deny it as well possibly making it look malicious what you are saying.

You wont get residency , but your ex will be told your daughter wont be allowed contact with this fella. Your ex may also possibly not even know about this sarahs law you applied for and that he isn't allowed near children
