Hi,
I’m new to this site but can someone please offer some advice?
I have a six-year-old daughter who I have never met. Long story short, I found out about her four years ago via the CSA and after taking an DNA test, have been making monthly payments ever since. I’ve only now got myself into a stable financial situation and would love to meet my daughter, but I have no way of contacting the mother as she has restricted me on all forms of communication. Now this may send alarm bells ringing but I can assure everyone, I’m not a bad person and have found this hard to come to terms with.
Can anyone advise me on what steps I can take to see my daughter? I have a little bit of savings so could probably afford legal advice but after seeing some of the costs involved, I’m worried about starting something I can’t financially afford to finish.
Any help would be most appreciated as I'm unsure of where to start.
Thanks,
Mike
hi,
if you know the mothers address, then best option is to make a court application for childs arrangement order.
you need to talk to a mediator, so they can give you permission to apply to court. i did a short video call for £89. Mediate UK is a decent one.
application costs £215. you can represent yourself and get advice from this forum. dont throw away thousands on a solicitor.
