[Solved] Child Maintenance payments during Covid-19

Hi.
Can anyone please advise?
I pay my ex child maintenance as she has my daughter 4-5 days of the week. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, we've split the care 50/50, but I'm still paying her every month. Should I stop paying her? We share costs for everyday items, gifts and necessities too. Gov't advice doesn't seem to cover this particular issue.

Any advice would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance.

MK

hi,

do you have private arrangement to pay maintenance? if its 50/50 then really you should not be paying maintenance. if you are paying through Child Maintenance service, then they don't expect you to pay maintenance if there is equal day to day care of kids.

but during this lockdown, CMS have stated that they won't change payment plans for parents about shared care, if child being kept away from parent temporarily.

if your 50/50 care is only temporary, you could try reason with ex to suspend payments for now.
