Hi all,
I am currently paying maintenance for my 14 year old daughter. I have been paying for years. She leaves school this summer and I plan on taking a sabbatical for 6-12 months and go travelling with my friend in South America. I shall be living of savings essentially <£20k
With no income, will I still be liable to pay any maintenance ? or would I have to declare my savings and use this to continue paying?

Hi,
If the sabbatical leave is unpaid and expected to last 12 weeks or more, then you should not be paying maintenance. Suggest you ring CMS and report change ASAP. Also good to send letter from employer as proof.
