Did you know: The opening ceremony for this years Olympics was the brain-child of Danny Boyle (Film Director and producer best known for Slumdog Millionaire) and was in fact dedicated to his father.

When Interviewed he said:

‘It’s my dad’s birthday today and when I took this job, I took it for lots of reasons,’ the Oscar-winning director said.

‘I took it because my dad was a mad Olympics fan, seriously a lunatic, and introduced me to the Olympics.’
