The thing about teeth

When my wisdom teeth were coming through, I was not much fun to be around. It hurt. Not in the same way as a broken leg, but it’s a horrible dull ache that doesn’t go away. I don’t deal well with this of any kind of pain, but especially this kind.

It has taken a while, but this week Adlai saw the emergence of his first tooth.

In a similar way to buses, it seems that you wait for ages for teeth, then two come along at once. Yep… Adlai has two little tiny teeth on the bottom, at the front of his mouth. Unlike me, for the most part, his mood has not been affected by a mouth full of teeth pushing through his gums… most impressive for a fella just two feet tall.

Teeth do come in mighty handy for eating. Adlai seems to be attacking a whole bunch of food with renewed vigour. Although a lot of the foods are being attempted much of it seems to be coming straight through the system un-chewed, which is kind of weird.   I guess we need a matching pair of teeth on the top of Adlai’s mouth before we expect any serious chewing attempts.
