Mental Health: Suicide (video 2)

October 10th was World Mental Health Day and here, we bring you the second in our series of videos about suicide from one of our resident bloggers, Marc…

Each day this week on DAD.info, Marc will be talking about his own personal experience of mental health issues within his family, and sharing his thoughts and feelings about his own son’s suicide attempt.

Watch Marc’s second video below, where he explores the emotions parents go through in the hours immediately following a child’s suicide attempt, and please share your comments or visit our forum if you’re affected by any of the issues raised in this week’s series of blogs.

Read more of Marc’s blogs for DAD.info here, and watch the third in his series of vlogs about suicide tomorrow.

We will also be running support articles this week from mental health organisations including MIND and YoungMinds, which both offer help and support for those suffering from mental health issues.

You can read YoungMinds‘ advice on how to spot signs of mental health issues in young people here

Read advice on how you can look after your own mental well-being as a father in this DAD.info article from MIND.

Whether you are struggling to cope yourself, or you’re concerned about the mental health of a loved one, please visit their websites or make a call – a team of experts will be there to offer help and support.
