Super Story Time

Stick Man’s days are numbered. The Gruffalo is seeming less scary all the time. Bedtime stories are changing and it’s stirring a creative flare in me that is conjuring delusions of grandeur. Adlai is requesting stories featuring a selection of fictional and real-world characters and I’m letting the creative juices flow.

Marvel comics have nothing on my bedtime stories. In fact I am expecting a phone call any moment from George Lucas to obtain film rights – I’d agree if I thought CGI was up to it and the world was ready but, thanks to Avatar, sadly I just don’t think it is.

Tonight’s epic tale featured the likes of Spiderman, Yoda, Postman Pat, and Adlai. I don’t want to give the story away but let’s just say they were planning on having a lovely day out together at the Natural History Museum before the T-Rex escaped…

I know; it’s gripping stuff.

Who knows where we’ll go tomorrow? I’m thinking there will be another person in need of rescue by the unlikely quartet. You’d think Postman Pat would be the odd one out in the group but he contributes some solid ideas. He has a good understanding of logistics and knows exactly what to do on a windy day in Greendale.

To be honest, I’m finding it hard to wind down at night after the wild adventures I’m spinning at story time.  If I’m this easily wound up at 31, it’s a wonder Adlai is getting any sleep at all.
