This House Just Ain’t No Home

This week I got a taste of the bachelor life and I have to say it did not taste good.  Faith and Adai were invited to a girly thirtieth birthday weekend party thing and for the first time since we became a family of three, I was left at home to fend for myself.

The prospect of having a little alone time did initially appeal. I thought it would be nice to have a bit of a relaxing weekend. For the first 30 minutes it was nice… then it got kind of boring, and turns out I’m really quite keen on hanging out with the wife and kid.  I filled the time by having a go at the ‘to do’ list Faith had left me (with mixed success), watching the rugby and eating food that’s probably not very good for me (with lots of success). I hope that if I was a real life bachelor I might be a little more productive and eat food that isn’t shrink-wrapped.

Two days into my bachelor experiment and things didn’t impove, though I did buy some bananas. But the bananas didn’t help. Thankfully some friends fed me a meal which included vegetables and I survived to day three or four (I lost count) when my glorious family returned looking more glorious than ever.
