What is family mediation?

If your relationship has broken down then perhaps you might consider using a family mediator before approaching a solicitor.

If you have children and your ex-partner isn’t abusive then mediation is a chance to spend time together working out how to move forward on important topics like your children and finances. Mediation isn’t easy but is really important and can be the one decision you will make that will mean you can be 100% involved in your children’s lives. Mediation can help you find your own solutions to your problems and jointly look at issues including your divorce, your children and your finances.

A survey completed by the Family Mediation Council reported that in 70% of cases couples were able to find whole or at least partial agreement through mediation. Well that can’t be that bad…
